Complex management
Cultural / Art project and Program management can be quite complex. It deals with highly creative processes, draws on innovation in many new areas, involves many stakeholders and it calls for management, a team and key people with strong experience, a variety of skills, tools and a good and active network.
An excellent concept and a great vision, mission and goals need to be formulated and written. A powerful coalition with a steering committee needs to be establised, a great team has to be formulated and kickstarted and key stakeholders should be identified, analyzed and approached.
Then the funding starts. Funding cultural projects and programs can be a big challenge, and the team need to understand how to open doors, look and apply for funding, establish strong relationships with commercial companies and make a lot with little.
It is also very important to have a network that can be utilized, to get volunteers, and a media strategy has to be formulated and put in to action. You then also need to know how to handle and manage Media and Press to get maximum coverage for your cultural events.
